Title:
PHOTOMULTIPLIER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3401044
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a photomultiplier by which reliability can be improved by noise reduction and workability can be improved by reduction of the number of part items.
CONSTITUTION: A converging electrode 7 formed of a stainless steel plate is arranged between a photocathode 4 and an electron multiplying part 10. This converging electrode 7 is composed of an electron converging part 9 where a large number of openings are arranged and formed in a matrix shape at the pitch of 1mm and four holding springs 8 which are formed in the peripheral part of this electron converging part 9 and come into contact excellently with a side pipe 2 at the tip having almost equal curvature to an inside surface of the side pipe 2. Thereby, since the single converging electrode 7 and the four holding springs 8 are formed integrally, these five parts become a single part, so that the number of part items can be reduced. Since there is no need to perform resistance welding on respective two places to the four holding springs 8, eight welding points can be reduced in total. Thereby, since generation of electric field discharge can be restrained when high voltage is impressed, a noise can be reduced. Thereby, reliability and manufacturing workability can be improved.
