Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a useful adhesive composition improved in adhesiveness by adding a specified amount of a coumarone/ indene copolymer tackifier to a photopolymerizable adhesive composition comprising an acrylate monomer mixture, a photopolymerization initiator and a polyfunctional acrylate monomer.
CONSTITUTION: This adhesive cmposition is prepared by mixing 100 pts.wt. monomer component comprising 70-99wt.% principal monomer component mainly consisting of an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer with 1-14 C alkyl (e.g. methyl acrylate) and 30-1wt.% polar comonomer (e.g. acrylic acid) with 2-40 pts.wt. coumarone/indene copolymer tackifier, 0.01-5 pts.wt. photopolymerization initiator (e.g. benzoin methyl ether) and 0.02-5 pts.wt. polyfunctional (meth)acrylate monomer (e.g. trimethylolpropane triacrylate). The composition has good adhesiveness to polar and nonpolar substrates and also a high cohesive force.
