The photoprocessing apparatus 10 includes: an exposure processing section 12, a controller 15 for controlling the operation of the exposure processing section 12, a development processing section 14, a controller 16 for controlling the operation of the development processing section 14, and a sensor 38 for detecting the ejection of a printing sheet S from the development processing section 14. The controller 15 transmits to the controller 16 an entry signal indicating that the printing sheet S has entered the development processing section 14 from the exposure processing section 12, and time data indicating time that has elapsed from the transmission of the first entry signal. Based on the time data, the controller 16 sets a reference time for determining whether the conveyance of the printing sheet S within the development processing section 14 is proper or not. The controller measures time needed for the conveyance from the reception of the entry signal from the controller 15 to the reception of a detection signal from the sensor 38. Based on the time needed for the conveyance and the reference time, the controller 16 determines whether the conveyance of the printing sheet S within the development processing section 14 is proper or not.
