PURPOSE: To obtain a photoreceptive member matchable well with semiconductor laser by providing a proper structure to a photoreceptive layer contg. a-Si as the principal component.
CONSTITUTION: A photoreceptive layer having a photosensitive layer 102 of an amorphous material contg. Si and at least one between Ge and Sn and a surface layer 103 is formed on a support 101. The surface layer 103 has a multilayered structure consisting essentially of a wear resistant layer as the top layer and an inner antireflection layer. The surface of the support 101 has a finely uneven cross-sectional shape formed by the superposition of secondary peaks on primary peaks. The photoreceptive layer on the surface of the support 101 has at least one pair of nonparallel interfaces within a short range and may nonparallel interfaces are arranged in at least one direction is a plane perpendicular to the thickness direction of the layer.
