To provide a photosensitive composition free from the flocculation of a bis(trihalomethyl)-s-triazine compound with the lapse of time and excellent in shelf stability and a photosensitive planographic printing plate using the photosensitive composition.

The photosensitive composition contains a water-insoluble and alkali-insoluble bis(trihalomethyl)-s-triazine compound having at least a phenyl group having an ester bond-containing substituent as a substituent or having at least a phenyl group having hydroxyl substituted substituents in the o- or m-positions as a substituent. A layer comprising the photosensitive composition is formed on the surface of a substrate to obtain the objective photosensitive planographic printing plate.
