PURPOSE: To provide the photosensitive compsn. which affords a hologram having excellent performance.
CONSTITUTION: This photosensitive compsn. for volumetric hologram recording to be used for recording the interference fringes generated by interference of a laser or light having an excellent coherence property as fringes of different refractive indices contains the respective components; (a) a radical polymerizable compd. which has 9, 9-diaryl fluorene skeletone and is liquid at ordinary temp., (b) a compd. which is selected from a group of a cation polymerizable compd., a radical polymerizable compd. without having the 9, 9-diaryl fluorene skeletone and a plasticizer and is compatible with the component (a) and (c) a photoradical polymn. initiation system which is photosensitive to the laser beam of a specific wavelength or the light having the excellent coherence property and polymerizes the component (a). The average refractive index of the component (a) of the photosensitive compsn. mentioned above is higher than the average refractive index of the component (b).
