Abstract:

To improve the developability of a planographic printing plate as well as to further shorten plate regeneration time with respect to a photosensitive layer, a regeneratable printing plate material having the photosensitive layer, a printing machine capable of making and regenerating a planographic printing plate using the printing plate material and a method for making the planographic printing plate.

The photosensitive layer 3 of the printing plate material 5 comprises fine silica particles 32 and a photocatalyst 31 having a binder function and is formed in such a way that the surface exhibits hydrophilicity upon irradiation with an active ray having a higher energy than the band gap energy of the photocatalyst 31.
