To provide a drying device capable of surely drying photosensitive material even immediately after a printing device is started.
In the photosensitive material drying device which dries the photosensitive material processed to develop an image in the printing device while conveying it, a part of a conveying path R in a drying part 20 is constituted of a plurality of plate type conveying guides 21d. A second temperature sensor 25 is provided to the surface of each conveying guide 21d on an opposite side to the conveying path R. The temperature of the conveying guide 21d is measured by the second temperature sensor 25. When the photographic printing device P is started, whether an output value from the second temperature sensor 25 reaches a predetermined value is decided (step SA3). When the output value reaches the predetermined value, printing is started (step SA4).
