Title:
PHOTOSENSITIVE ORGANIC POLYMER NONLINEAR OPTICAL MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04368920
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce scattering loss and to enhance stability with the lapse of time by incorporating a polymer having a specified azidoenzoate structure on a side chain. CONSTITUTION:The polymer having the azidobenzoate structure on the side chain is represented by formula I in which A is an electron attractive group; X is alkylene or alkyleneoxide; n is an integer between 0 and 22; and m is an integer between 0 and 4. The electron attractive group is embodied by nitro, cyano, carboxyl, or carboxylic ester, and carbonyl groups. The nonlinear polymer can be prepared by synthesizing, for example, the monomer having the structure of formula I and polymerizing the monomer, or introducing the ester structure 1 into a polymer structure.
