To obtain a photosensitive planographic printing plate excellent in UV ink printing resistance and water resistance and to obtain a photosensitive compsn. suitable for use in the production of the printing plate by using a vinyl copolymer contg. aliphatic and/or arom. hydroxyl groups, a cocondensed diazo resin and a compd. having two or more ethylenically unsatd. bonds and two or more urethane bonds in one molecule.
The photosensitive compsn. comprises a vinyl copolymer contg. aliphatic and/or arom. hydroxyl groups, a cocondensed diazo resin and a compd. having two or more ethylenically unsatd. bonds and two or more urethane bonds in one molecule. The alkali-soluble or -swellable high molecular compd. used may be selected from various polymers but is preferably selected in consideration of compatibility with the photopolymn. initiator and the photopolymerizable monomer, solubility to a developer, etc. A styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer may be used and an alkali-soluble high molecular compd. contg. repeating units from a methacrylic acid deriv. as ≥50% of the constituent repeating units of the principal chain is preferably used.
