PURPOSE: To provide a photosensitive planographic printing plate which has an excellent high contrast characteristic, a wide range of adequate development conditions and sufficient plate wear without deterioration of film strength and has high sensitivity and a process for producing this photosensitive planographic printing plate.
CONSTITUTION: This photosensitive planographic printing plate is formed by providing a base with a photosensitive layer contg. a surfactant having a conon. distribution in which the concn. of the surfactant is high on the front surface side of the photosensitive layer and is low on the side near the base. In addition, the concn. of the surfactant on the side near the base is below 2/3 the average conon. of the surfactant in the photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer described above contains an o-quinonediazide compd. and the surfactant.
