Abstract:

To provide a photosensitizer that adsorbs to electrode materials strongly, and has a high conversion efficiency.

The photosensitizer includes a structure represented by general formula (1) in one molecule, wherein M1 is a transition metal selected from Ru, Os, Fe, Re, Rh and Co; R1-R5 are each independently any of H, carbonyl-containing group, phosphoric ester group, 1-30C alkyl group, 2-30C alkenyl group, 1-30C alkoxyalkyl group, 1-30C aminoalkyl group, 1-30C perfluoroalkyl group, 6-30C aryl group, 7-30C aralkyl group, or alkyl group, alkenyl group, aryl group and aralkyl group each having a carbonyl group; and each X is independently a monodentate ligand selected from -NCS, halogen atom, -CN, -NCO, -OH and -NCN2.
