Title:
PHOTOSENSOR AND INFORMATION RECORDING METHOD AND APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2940661
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable recording on an information recording medium by prolonged exposure even under weak light by a method wherein a light induced current is generated according to an exposure quantity when a voltage is applied after exposure while a voltage is not applied to a photosensor or a reverse polarity voltage is applied.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensor 10 has an electrode 12 on a substrate 11 and a photoconductor layer comprising an electric load generation layer 14 and an electric load transportation layer 15 is provided thereon. An information recording medium 20 has an electrode 22 laminated on a substrate 21 and an information recording layer as high polymer-liquid crystal composite is formed on the electrode. A controller 18 controls an applied voltage between the electrodes 12 and 22. A voltage is applied after information light 17 is exposed with the applied voltage being zero or negative. Light carrier generated on a photoconductor layer moves by an electric field between both the electrodes 12 and 22 and the voltage is redistributed to orient a liquid crystal layer of the information recording layer 23 thereby enabling recording corresponding to the pattern of the information light 17. Thus, information with a large contrast can be recorded even under prolonged exposure of weak light.
