Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition composed of a specified unsaturated bond-containing compound, a specific mercapto group-containing compound and a specified photopolymerization initiator, excellent in quick curing and stability of liquid crystal orientation and useful for encapsulation, sealing and inner structure of a liquid crystal cell.
CONSTITUTION: This resin composition is composed of (A) a compound having two or more non-aromatic carbon-carbon unsaturated bonds in the molecule, e.g. triallyl isocyanurate, (B) a compound having two or more mercapto groups in the molecule, e.g. trimethylolethane tris(mercaptoacetate) and (C) a photopolymerization initiator exhibiting visible light sensitivity, etc. In addition, a display device is obtained preferably by holding a liquid crystal material between a pair of electrodes formed on the inside surfaces of a pair of inorganic insulating base plates facing each other and making up the peripheral sealing part, an open part and a part of the inner part of the photo-cured material of the objective composition.
