One end of a reactor 2 for a boost chopper is connected to a high-potential output terminal of a solar cell 1. A high-potential terminal of a switching element Q1 for the boost chopper is connected to the other end of the reactor 2, and a low-potential terminal of the switching element Q1 is connected to a low-potential output terminal of the solar cell 1. The switching element Q1 is turned on and both ends of the solar cell are short-circuited during stoppage of a photovoltaic power generation system, the booster chopper starts operation from the state that no-load voltage is not generated across the solar cell.
