Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a phthalocyanine deriv. which has good resistances to light and heat, hardly exhibits change in absorption wavelength by heating, and is easily applied to a plastic substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A phthalocyanine driv. of the formula [wherein at least one of X and Y is 0(CH2CH2O)nZ (wherein Z is a tetrahydrofurfuryl group or an optionally nuclear-substd. benzyl group; and (n) is an integer of 0-6) and the other is hydrogen; and A is a metal atom optionally bonded to a halogen or oxygen atom]is provided together with an optical recording material comprising a substrate and a recording layer contg. the deriv. as the light-absorbing substance.
