To provide an electrode component that exhibits excellent stability, and is safe and reduced in reactivity by forming a negative electrode with a board and a negative electrode active material formed as a physical deposition layer deposited on the board.
A physically deposited coating of an electrode active material is formed on a conductive board, and an electrode component of an electrochemical battery is thereby formed. The electrode active material is used to form a negative electrode component for the electrochemical battery by depositing a negative electrode active material on the board by the use of a physical deposition method. The negative electrode active material is selected from a group comprising a metal, a metal oxide, a mixed metal oxide, a metal sulfide, a carbonic material and a mixture of those substances. As a suitable negative electrode active material, vanadium-silver oxide, cupper sulfide and carbon are enumerated, and a solid negative electrode material is formed of a mixed metal oxide formed by physically depositing various kinds of metal oxides or a combination of metal oxide(s)/elementary metal(s).
