To allow to conveying in and out plate members of plural sorts with different widths rapidly, by providing pickers to hold and confine opposite sides of plate members from the outer side, movable up and down, and providing the holding and confining end of the length corresponding to the minimum length of the opposite sides, of the classified plate members, to the pickers.

A trolley 4a running by making a running crain as a guide rail, and a pair of pickers 5 and 6 movable up and down to the trolley 4a, are connected. Electric motors 4b and 4c for elevation are provided to the trolley 4a, and they are connected to the pickers 5 and 6 through wires 4d and 4e provided to output shafts. The pickers 5 and 6 are made in the same form of devices, and the intervals between clamp hands 5c, and between clamp hands 6c, can be changed by the cylinders 5b and the cylinders 6b at both ends of the frames 5a and the frames 6a connected to the wires 4d and 4e. When the maximum width of the plate member, the pockers 5 and 6 can pick individually, is made 900mm, and the maximum width 1800mm, tentatively, the plate member with the maximum width 3600mm can be clamped by both pickers 5 and 6.
