When the picking work is not required in one's own zone Z and the upstream zone Z, the article collecting containers 10 requiring the picking work are determined out of the article collecting containers 10 identified that they are conveyed further upstream of the upstream zone Z. Instructions are given by a front port indicator 19 and a temporarily placing indicator 47 so that the articles 11 to be stored into the acquired article collecting containers 10 are taken out from a front port 16, and all of them are temporarily placed on a temporarily placing table 46.
