To provide a picking work control system capable of rapidly improving the efficiency of picking work at a distribution center by selecting the most suitable picking work method adaptable to characteristics of various delivery orders.

A fundamental control server 1 selects the most suitable picking method by; checking whether there is a stock sufficient to cover the delivery orders on an objective date or not by a delivery product checking part 30; reading delivery data on the objective date from a delivery product data base 22 by a picking selection part 31 when it is possible to cover the orders; totaling the number of kinds of products and the number of the delivery orders to deliver on the objective date in accordance with the delivery data; computing whether the number of the kinds of the products is higher than a first standard value or not; computing whether the number of the delivery orders is higher than a second standard value or not whichever the computed result is and; computing whether the number of the delivery orders to complete delivery with the specific number of the kinds is higher than a third standard value or not when the computed result is higher than the second standard value.
