Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain large compressibility in a natural picture in the vicinity of picture signals and having correlation by comparing the change of the picture signal with a certain evaluation function of monotonous decrease and outputting the distance between samples and a sample value at that time as a transmission value when there is a large change. CONSTITUTION:At the values to the same address, the evaluation functions stored in ROMs 8-10 becomes larger in the sequence of ROM(1)8-ROM(3)10 and maximum addresses becomes larger in the same sequence, as well. Consequently, an interval where a comparator 12 outputs its output becomes longer to the same data and the generation quantity of the data is suppressed. As this result, the sampling interval is extended till the change of the picture signal exceeds an evaluation function value, as the result, a part where a change quantity is large is sampled finely and a part where the change is slow is sampled roughly. Thus, the picture signal can be coded efficiently and the large compressibility can be obtained in the natural picture having many low-frequency components.
