PURPOSE: To improve the transfer efficiency and to improve the processing efficiency by transferring efficiently a picture data in the compression form from a host to a picture processor and providing an extracting function of an optional line data and a simultaneous processing function of expansion and interleaving to the picture processor so as to reduce the quantity of transfer data.
CONSTITUTION: An interface circuit 3 identifies a command and a compressed picture data transferred from a host 1 in a picture processor 2, a command required for each circuit in the processor is given, a memory control circuit 8 is controlled to generate a memory address and the compressed picture data is stored sequentially in the memory 4. The range of the compressed picture data to be expanded is decided by designating the line number from a host and the command of interleaving is designated from the host. The compressed picture data read in a data bus 13 is inputted to an expansion control circuit 9, where the data is expanded in response to the data compression system.
