CONSTITUTION: When a facsimile communication control section 9 detects the reception from a facsimile terminal equipment connecting to a public network 17, the mode enters the reception of the picture data via the protocol control for the connection. A transmission terminal equipment identification signal with a transmission station telephone number added thereto as detailed additional information is identified and the transmission station telephone number is stored in the protocol control. Then the facsimile communication control section 9 receives a picture data and terminates the communication when the reception of all pages is finished. Furthermore, the present time is read from a time management section 19 after the end of communication, a document name and a keyword used at the retrieval are registered in a hard disk 12 through the combination of a destination facsimile number and the reception time and an actual picture data is stored in an optical disk 13. Then, the automatic registration job from a remote location is facilitated.
