PURPOSE: To facilitate maintenance operation, by constituting a picture forming device which allows a corona discharge wire to be cleaned off easily from the outside because a picture is stained possibly owing to a dust sticking to the corona discharge wire before the life of a process kit expires.
CONSTITUTION: An opening 21 is provided near the corona discharger position of the housing 20 of the process kit K nearly in parallel to the discharge wire extension direction of the discharger 3. A flexible sheet member 22 is provided to the opening 21 in a free opening and closing state to cover the opening part 21. A cleaner 36 straddles the opening installation part of the housing, and the cleaning surface of a cleaning member 39 provided at the top of an arm part is set at distance more than that up to the discharge wire 31. When a base part 37 is moved forth and back along the opening to clean off the discharge wire by the cleaner 36, the cleaning member 39 is in contact with the discharge wire all the time to eliminate the possibility of cleaning defect. Therefore, the wire is cleaned off from the outside, the optical fatigue of a photoreceptor is eliminated, and the maintenance operation is carried out easily.
