PURPOSE: To display, edit and output stored various pieces of information and to improve a function ability by designating retrieval information and reading retreival information and a stored picture from an optical recording medium.

CONSTITUTION: Desired information is read from CD-ROM, and the information is stored in a picture memory 50. A picture processing and the desired processing of code exchange are executed if need so as to obtain desired picture data. Then, obtained picture data is transmitted to an optical disk device 22 through an optical disk interface 36, and data is recorded into the optical disk. When retrieval information is inputted from a keyboard 23a and data is read from the optical disk by the retrieval information, picture data is recorded into the optical disk so that it is uniquely decided. For reading recorded information from the optical disk, information is read based on inputted retrieval information. Thus, various picture editing can easily be executed.
