PURPOSE: To remarkably reduce the circuit required for the processing of a picture signal output of an image sensor, by constituting the device so that a frequency of drive pulse of the image sensor and a converting frequency of an A/D converter may concident.

CONSTITUTION: An image is formed on a CCD image sensor 2 with an optical lens 1 and outputted as an electric signal eh. A picture information signal Aeh amplified at an amplifier circuit 3 is digitally converted at an A/D converter 4 and outputted as a picture digital output 10. The sensor 2 is driven with drive pulses 1, 2 at a drive circuit 5. The pulses 1, 2 are signals synchronized with a clock CLK and formed to have a prescribed phase relation with a drive pulse CAD of the A/D converter from a pulse control circuit 6. Thus, analog circuits required for the processing of a picture signal output of the sensor 1 can remarkably be omitted and the cost and shape can also be improved.
