PURPOSE: To avoid a case where an input picture is partly cut and only a part of the picture is displayed by storing the input picture into a memory in equimultiple in case the picture element number of the input picture information is smaller than that stored in the memory and then applying a variable power process to the input picture so as to secure the maximum picture element number of the memory in case the picture element number of the input picture information is larger than that stored in the memory.
CONSTITUTION: A color reader consisting of a color separating means and a photoelectric converting element reads the color picture information received from an original for each color and converts the read information into the digital picture signals. While the color pictures are limited for each color in accordance with the digital picture signals received from a color printer 2. Then the color pictures are transcribed in plural times onto the recording paper in a dit form. Furthermore a picture memory 3 stores the digital pictures read out of the reader 1. In case the picture element number of the input picture information is smaller than that of the memory 3, the picture information is stored in unmagnification in the printer 2. While a variable power process is applied to the input picture so as to secure the maximum picture element number of the printer 2 in case the picture element number of the input picture information is larger than that of the memory 3. Thus the partly cut of a picture can be avoided.
