PURPOSE: To realize picture motion correction implemented by segmenting a required signal from a video signal stored in a field memory by directly segmenting the signal from a photoelectric conversion element through the use of an acceleration detection means detecting directly the motion of an image pickup device.
CONSTITUTION: A conventional picture motion correction device is provided newly with an acceleration detection circuit 8, a conversion circuit 9, a picture motion prediction circuit 5 and a photoelectric conversion element control circuit 6, a picture motion detection circuit 4 detects the motion of a picture and the motion of a picture of a succeeding field is predicted by the predictive circuit 5 based on the motion of the picture to be detected and information resulting from acceleration information obtained by the acceleration detection circuit 8 and converted into required information by the conversion circuit 9, a signal read address of a photoelectric conversion element 1 is moved based on the prediction to correct the motion of the picture.
