PURPOSE: To provide an output screen easy to see by displaying plural desired points on the same picture without individually indicating the reduced scales and output ranges at the time of displaying a map.
CONSTITUTION: Map data is held in a map data holding part 1. When an operator inputs a desired point by an output point name input part 2, map data corresponding to the inputted name is retrieved in the map data holding part 1. Map data including the retrieved point is determined, and the reduced scale is determined by a ratio of the size of determined map data to that of an output screen. map data and the reduced scale are determined by an output range determining part 3. A map output part 4 outputs map data based on determined map data and reduced scale.
