Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a picture pattern variation display device capable of meeting a plurality sizes of picture pattern display tapes by rotating the tape with a frictional force generated between a driving roller and the picture pattern display tape and increasing and decreasing a maximum distance from the center of swinging of an arm to the outer periphery of a tension roller supported at the end of the arm.
CONSTITUTION: A picture pattern variation display device 2 provided at the center of the playing area 1a of a pinball playing machine has totally five hit lines set respectively on upper, intermediate and lower lines and diagonal lines. The display device 2 has a picture pattern variation unit 8 provided with an endless belt type picture pattern display tape 12 wound and extending on pulleys 13a to 13c. The tape 12 is rotated by friction transmission due to the contact of a driving roller 14. Tension is applied to the tape 12 by a tension roller 13d supported at the end of a swingable arm 21 to which an urging force is given by a spring 22. Thus, the length of the arm 21 or the diameter of the tension roller 13d is properly changed so that the display device 2 meeting a plurality of sizes of tapes 12 can be obtained.
