Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain ease of control by a microcomputer or the like and to miniaturize the circuit by applying digital conversion to an analog signal being the result of reading picture information, applying digital signal to the result to obtain a binary-coding signal. CONSTITUTION:In feeding, e.g., a figure 10 vertically, a photoelectric conversion element 12 converts picture information on the diagram 10 into an analog signal. After the analog signal from the element 12 is amplified by amplifier circuit 13, the result is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter circuit 14. A changeover circuit 15 connects an output terminal of the circuit 14 to the position of an adder circuit 16 or the position of a comparator circuit 19, and in reading the picture information on the figure 10, the circuit 15 is connected to the position of the adder circuit 16 prior to the start of reading. In this case, the photoelectric conversion element 12 applies photoelectric conversion to a background color on the figure 10 and the digital signal corresponding to the background color is fed from the circuit 15 to the adder circuit 16 one by one line of the photoelectric conversion element 12.
