Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain excellent reading by providing a recessed part to a discharge tray in a way that it is not interferred with a handle of a carrier sheet extrac tion and original retainer or the like so as to prevent the production of jam at sheet original mode. CONSTITUTION:A recessed part 9a is provided to a paper discharge tray 9 in the running direction of a carrier sheet 10 at its middle part. The depth of the recessed part 9a is deeper than the thickness of a handle 10a for original retainer 10b and its width is formed slightly wider than the handle 10a and the original retainer 10b. Thus, the reading by the sheet original mode is execut ed frequently in normal, and the carrying of the sheet original in this mode is not interferred with the handle 10a and the original retainer 10b or the like in this mode, then no jam takes place and excellent reading is attained.
