PURPOSE: To record a recording signal with high quality at a high frequency band, by providing an image pickup section having plural picture elements arranged in matrix, and a picture element memory recording digitally each picture element outputted from the image pickup section so as to unify said section and a recording section.
CONSTITUTION: A discrete output of a solid-state image pickup element 12 scanned at a driver 10 is amplified at a preamplifier 14, sampled and held into a continuous signal, and inputted to an A/D converter 16. The solid-state image pickup element 12 has a single board inter-line CCD having picture elements arranged in a matrix, e.g., attended with R, G, B, mosaic filters. An A/D converter 16 converts an output of the preamplifier 14 into a digital signal in 8-bit per each picture element and writes it into a picture element memory 18. A data of 2O bit among each picture element data is stored regularly in a memory 18-1 in the order of picture element. The data corresponding to 27-bit is stored similarly in a memory 18-8.
