PURPOSE: To obtain a picture weaving capable of reproducing a pure white picture element in a pure white color and a deep-black picture element in a deep-black color of an image separated by a sketch such as a painting and faithfully reproducing colors of other picture elements with a usually used automatic loom.

CONSTITUTION: This picture weaving A for reproducing a picture element of a painting, etc., is obtained by constituting warp yarns, forming respective joining points of a textile weave (15) and comprising regulating yarns of one set of two dark and bright warp yarns or one set of three dark, medium and bright yarns, different in lightness [(m1) and (m2), (n1) and (n2), (o1) and (o2)...], exposing either of the one set of the regulating yarns onto the weft yarns [(a), (b), (c)...] in the joining points where the warp yarns cross over the weft yarns, sinking other residual regulating yarns under the weft yarns, changing the ratio of the number of the joining points where the warp yarns cross over the weft yarns to the number of the joining points where the weft yarns cross over the warp yarns in the textile weave (15) according to the chromaticness of the picture element, selecting one set of the regulating yarns constituting the warp yarns in the joining points where the warp yarns cross over the weft yarns according to the lightness of the picture element and sinking the other residual regulating yarns under the weft yarns.
