Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an improvement in the failsafe function of a piezo actuator driving circuit of a multiple switching system.
SOLUTION: A current detection means 38b is provided in the mid of an energization path 33a for charging piezo stacks 127A-127D by a capacitor 32, and determines it as a short-circuit failure if a detected current exceeds a threshold by a controller 212. Unlike an LC resonance system exchanging all charges stored between the capacitor and the piezo stack, a short circuit does severe damage to the multiple switching system. By immediately detecting the short- circuit failure, therefore, the severe damage can be prevented.
