Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent perpetual deformation and disfunction of a bending element of a piezo valve that can be cause by a long period voltage application.
CONSTITUTION: For a piezo valve 1 the sealable surface of the seat 13 of the controllable medium connection is so large that the pressure-induced closing force of the sealing region 14 of the bending element 4 that is generated in accordance with the medium pressure acting in the second switch position is greater than the elastically induced counterforce and smaller than the total of this counterforce and the piezo reset force acting upon application of a corresponding control voltage. Since the pressure of the medium acts on the bending member to bring the bending member in close contact with the seat 13 in the second switch position thereby, the electric load required for holding the seal range of the piezo bending member in the second switch position is omitted or extremely reduced. Thus the perpetual deformation of the bending member, i.e., the defect of functions, is not generated and both switch positions of the valve can be held for a long period of time as required even in a case the operation temperature is high.
