Title:
PIEZOELECTRIC BIMORPH DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59222979
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To drive the titled bimorph device by low power consumption while increasing the speed of response of a piezoelectric bimorph, and to control the position of return accurately so as to remove residual displacement by providing the piezoelectric bimorph, in which a pair of piezoelectric elements are joined while reversing the directions of polarization in the width direction through an intermediate electrode, and a driving circuit applying an electric field to one piezoelectric element in the same direction as the direction of polarization on operation. CONSTITUTION:With a piezoelectric bimorph M, a pair of piezoelectric elements P1, P2 are joined, and the directions of polarization e1, e2 of each piezoelectric element P1, P2 are formed in the opposite directions to the width directions. A postitive potential output terminal O1 for a DC power suply E is connected to an intermediate electrode (a) in the piezoelectric bimorph M through a switch S and a protective resistor R1 and a negative potential output terminal O2 to a surface electrode (b) in one piezoelectric element P1 respectively. The positive potential output terminal O1 is connected to a surface electrode (c) in the other piezoelectric element P2 through a discharge resistor 12, and surface electrodes (b), (c) in the piezoelectric bimorph M are connected to an emitter and a collector for a discharge transistor Q. Accordingly, the speed of return of the piezoelectric bimorph is increased by the synergism of the return characteristics of one piezoelectric element and that of the other element, and residual displacement by one element can be removed by the displacement of the other element.
