Abstract:

To obtain a laminated piezoelectric-crystal element which is easy to manufacture and superior conversion efficiency and a method for the manufacture of the piezoelectric-crystal element.

Electrodes 11a and 12a are formed on the surfaces of two sheet- like piezoelectric elements 11 and 12 respectively, and the elements are laminated. The laminate is wrapped around a shaft 13 and formed into a cylinder and is fired and polarized to form a piezoelectric-crystal element 10. A shaft obtained by bonding together a plurality of plate-like bodies separated in the direction of the displacement of the piezoelectric-crystal element, or a plurality of segments cut off in the direction of displacement with adhesive which is thermally decomposed at a temperature lower than firing temperature into cylindrical shape, or a shaft the surface of which is coated with coating agent is used for the shaft. Thus, the wrapping work is facilitated, and after firing, the adhesive is decomposed by heat to cause the plurality of the plate-like bodies or segments comprising the shaft to come apart, or the coating agent is evaporated so that the shaft can be removed. As a result, the shaft will not interfere with the displacement of the piezoelectric-crystal element 10.
