Abstract:
To provide a piezoelectric pump and a method for driving the same, which increases the amount of fluid transferred even if the pump is thin and small.
This piezoelectric pump includes a structure provided with a piezoelectric element and a support member supporting the piezoelectric element, a base laminated on the structure, and a pump chamber surrounded by the base and structure. The piezoelectric element includes a pair of electrodes composed of a first electrode always applied with bias voltage when operating the piezoelectric pump and a second electrode intermittently applied with drive voltage, and a piezoelectric body sandwiched between the pair of electrodes.
