Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric oscillator and a piezoelectric oscillator device which are resonant at high frequencies, using a fundamental wave, easy to obtain satisfactory characteristics, even if there is a thickness variation of a piezoelectric board for forming driving electrodes, and manufacturable by a method superior in mass production, such as bevel machining at a comparatively low cost.
SOLUTION: The device comprises a piezoelectric board 1, having a convex lens-like sectional shape and a pair of opposed drive electrodes 2, 3 on sloped main surfaces of one end portion of the board 1. The slope angle θ of each sloped main surface of the one end portion of the board 1 is 2° or smaller. The board 1 has wedged parts 1b, gradually thinning with respect to its thickness toward the top end at both sides of the thickest portion 1a, and the drive electrodes 2, 3 on the wedged parts 1b is formed to gradually thicken toward the wedged parts to ends.
