Title:
PIEZOELECTRIC RESONATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3191551
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To utilize a surface wave in the SH mode and to form plural attenuation poles with a single element by forming an interdigital transducer so as to have at least two resonance characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: An interdigital transducer (IDT) 15 comprising interdigital electrodes 13,14 is formed on a front side of a piezoelectric substrate 12. Each of the interdigital electrodes 13(14) has plural electrode fingers 13a-13d(14a-14i). Then a BGS wave propagated in a direction orthogonal to a direction in which the electrode fingers 13a-13d(14a-14i) are extended is stimulated in a piezoelectric resonator 11 by applying an AC voltage to the interdigital electrodes 13, 14 similarly to the case with the conventional end face reflection type surface wave resonator utilizing a surface wave in the SH mode, and the BGS wave is reflected between end faces 12a and 12b. Thus, two resonance points Fr1, Fr2. appear in the piezoelectric resonator 11 as above and then two resonance characteristics are obtained.
