Abstract:

To provide a piezoelectric transformer drive circuit and a manufacturing method for the piezoelectric transformer drive circuit wherein the positive waveform and the negative waveform of output current are symmetrical with each other and damage to output-side equipment, such as a cold-cathode tube, connected to its output terminal is prevented.

The piezoelectric transformer drive circuit is of push-pull type and drives a piezoelectric transformer that transforms voltage inputted to between two input terminals. The drive circuit includes: two inductance elements that are respectively connected to the input terminals of a piezoelectric transformer and stores and discharges energy from a power source to the input terminals of the piezoelectric transformer; two switching elements that receive an oscillation signal and switch the discharge of energy from each inductance element; and a capacitor that is connected between the input terminal of one lower in inductance of the two inductance elements and ground.
