Abstract:

To provide a piezoelectric-type actuator which can manufacture piezoelectric elements with a simple and low-cost form.

This piezoelectric type actuator 1 is provided with at least one of monolithic piezoelectric elements 2, 3, consisting of piezoelectric material. The piezoelectric element is formed into a tubular shape, and involves penetration parts 5, 6 extending along a longitudinal direction 4. The penetration parts are surrounded by tubular walls 8, 9, and is provided with at least one of inner electrodes 10, 11 at the inside of the tubular walls 8, 9 of the respective piezoelectric elements 2, 3, and outer electrodes 12, 13 at the outside of the tubular walls of the respective piezoelectric elements. At the time of applying voltage between the inner electrode and the outer electrode, an electric field is formed, which is directed substantially vertically with respect to the longitudinal direction 4 of the tubular piezoelectric elements 2, 3. The distortion of the piezoelectric elements 2, 3 is generated in the longitudinal direction 4 by the electric field, and operational force is generated in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric element.
