Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion excellent in high microdispersibility and high storage stability, in which even a difficult-to-disperse pigment can be finely dispersed, and whose dispersed state does not change with time, and to provide a novel polymer dispersant which enables the pigment dispersion to be realized.SOLUTION: Provided is a pigment dispersion comprising a pigment, a pigment dispersant, and an organic solvent. The pigment dispersant is an A-B type block copolymer, 90 mass% or more of monomer units of which includes methacrylic acid-based monomers. Moreover, only the polymer block B which constitutes the copolymer contains 2-(2-oxoimidazolidin-1-yl)ethyl methacrylate represented by formula (1) as a monomer unit. The polymer block B has a cyclic ureido group introduced therein by the cyclic ureido methacrylate.
