Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile cloth composed of an elastic and dense felt-like block resistant to crushing and produced by entangling all fibers constituting the pile, free from dust-catching tendency to keep the clean state, having good heat-retention and moisture retention, giving comfortable feeling to the skin and suitable for rug, leg sheet, chair cover, and bedclothing such as pillow cover and bed sheet.
SOLUTION: The pile yarn of the pile cloth is woven or knit together with base yarns 11, 12 constituting the ground fabric to form cut piles. The cut pile is composed of a pair of pile pieces 13, 14 protruded from the same grain surrounded by the base yarns 11, 12, the root 15 of the cut pile is exposed to the back surface, woven or knit into the ground fabric 18 and entangled with the base yarn 12, and the pile yarn is composed of a plurality of twisted spun single yarns composed of animal fiber having scale. The pile pieces 13, 14 form a pill 19 having a dense core part and formed by entangling the animal fibers in the form of a felt.
