Title:
PILE CLOTH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10158959
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a natural fur-like pile cloth giving a characteristic curve of compressive stress to thickness exhibiting a maximal point or an inflection point, excellent in resilience or voluminous feeling and having soft surface touch feeling by using acute yarn end component containing specific modified cross-section acrylic fibers.

This pile cloth is obtained by weaving acute yarn end component containing ≥10wt.% of acrylic fibers composed of an acrylonitrile-based polymer containing ≥40wt.% of acrylonitrile and having a flat cross section of a flatness (a/b) {(a) is length of long side and (b) is length of short side} of 5-25 and projections continued to the fiber direction on each long side and having a width W of (b/2) to (3b) and a height H of (b/2) to (2b) in a number of 1 to (a/2W) pieces or a modified cross section of Y-letter, a cross or a rhombus shape and having 0.5-10 de single fiber denier. When a pile cloth used the acute yarn end component is subjected to a compression test and a characteristic curve comprising compressive stress to thickness is plotted, the compressive stress attains 0.2-9gf/cm2 as a maximal value and once passes at ≤3/5, preferably ≤1/10 of the maximal value before compressive strain attains 30%.
