To provide a pile driving apparatus which can advantageously ensure stability both in an axial direction and a height direction of a pile under a condition in which the pile is driven in the ground at a desired depth.

The pile driving apparatus has a bit tool 41 and a rotation driving means 34. The bit tool 41 has a plurality of bits 50 and 50 at the tip thereof. The bit tool is inserted and housed in a predetermined metallic pipe which is erected on the ground, and under a condition in which the bits 50 and 50 are protruded from a lower end opening of the metallic pipe, it is rotated about a shaft. The rotation driving means 34 drives the bit tool 41 for rotation. The pile driving apparatus thus constructed carries out drilling into the ground by using the bit tool 41 and the rotation driving means 34, and squeezes the metallic pipe into a drilled hole by means of squeezing means 60 and 60 for downward pressing an upper end of the metallic pipe, whereby the metallic pipe is advanced into the ground.
