Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a pile fabric stretchable to some extent in a weft direction by inserting pile yarn of which the greater part is natural fibers in a specific state into a ground fabric having potential elasticity, such as a weave, composed of polyester fiber filaments.

CONSTITUTION: The weft and warp of the ground fabric having linen or weave or the textile structure obtainable therefrom are composed of the polyester fiber yarn and the potential elasticity is imparted to at least in the weft direction by a heat treatment. Up to four pile picks are inserted between two pieces of the adjacent wefts by using the pile yarn of which the greater part is the natural fibers. The pile picks form in at least part the W bond pile naps within three or five warp through-piles. A special use of this fabric is an upholstery cloth for car seats and other seats of furniture.
