To reliably sample a pile hole infill at a desired depth while removing deposits from around a take-in port.
In a sampling device 40, a tubular base 1 is partitioned into a sampling take-in chamber 11 and a sampling tank 12 with a separation plate 6 having a communication hole 7, a take-in port 13 is formed in the sampling take-in chamber 11, and a main blocking tool 21 which has an upper plug body 22 and a lower plug body 8 for blocking the communication hole 7 and which can be moved up and down by an operation rod 51 is mounted in the tubular base 1. With the communication hole 7 blocked by the upper plug body 22, the sampling device 40 is moved down in a pile hole (a) for jetting washing water from a pipe part 3 at a predetermined depth to wash deposits near the take-in port 13. It is moved to a sampling position (a) for taking the pile hole infill from the take-in port 13 and the communication hole 7 into the sampling tank 12 while moving up the operation rod 51. After completing the take-in, the operation rod 31 is moved up to pull up the sampling device 40 to a ground with the communication hole 7 blocked by the lower plug body 23 (c).
