Abstract:
PURPOSE: To take a nice sleep by detecting the posture of a sleeping person and automatically setting the pillow to the optimum height according to the posture. CONSTITUTION: A pillow main body 1 is set on a bed, and a sheet 3 of a posture detector 2 is laid in such a manner as to bring the shoulder part of a sleeping person into contact with the sheet. If the sleeping person is in the supine position, a pressure sensor 4 of the posture detector 2 is operated more than a preset number of times, more than a designated number of signals are output to a height setting device 6. Whereupon, a fluid in the pillow main body 1 is discharged to the outside to lower the pillow main body 1. Next, if the sleeping person is on his side, a fluid is supplied into the pillow main body 1 to increase the height of the pillow main body 1. Thus, the pillow can be automatically set to the optimum height to enable a nice sleep.
